Short version: Markup collects nothing and sends nothing. Your annotations and exported image live entirely on your device.
None. Markup does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, sell, or share any personal or usage data. It makes no network requests of any kind.
When you click the toolbar icon, Markup uses the activeTab permission (granted by that click)
and scripting to draw an annotation layer on the current page and, when you export, to scroll and
screenshot the page with your markup so it can be stitched into one image. It has no host permissions and runs
on a page only when you click to activate it — it cannot read pages you visit in the background, and it does not
read page text.
Annotations exist only in the page while you work and are discarded when you close or turn Markup off; nothing is persisted. The exported PNG or PDF is created locally and handed to you to download — it is never uploaded, never logged, and never leaves your device.
None. No analytics, no ads, no trackers, no external SDKs, no remote code.
